Marco Visser is post-doc onderzoeker aan de PThU op het gebied van de Bijbelse Theologie.

Deze onderzoeksplek is ingesteld in samenwerking met de stichting De Nieuwe Bijbelschool, netwerk van theologen in de traditie van de zgn. Amsterdamse School. Zie www.denieuwebijbelschool.nl.

In 2022 is Marco Visser gepromoveerd op het proefschrift: 'Pars pro toto. Analyse van de figuur van het pars pro toto in het werk van F.H. Breukelman en uitwerking aan de hand van de teksten over de knecht van JHWH in Jesaja. Een bijbels-theologisch onderzoek.' Begeleiders van het promotietraject waren prof. dr. Rinse Reeling Brouwer en prof. dr. Klaas Spronk (OT).

Het huidige vervolgonderzoek gaat over het werk van Rochus Zuurmond, docent hermeneutiek en hoogleraar Bijbelse Theologie aan de UvA van 1981 tot 1996 en een van de toonaangevende representanten van de 'Amsterdamse School'. De onderzoeksvraag is wat de actuele betekenis van zijn visie op Bijbelse Theologie is voor het vakgebied vandaag.

Marco Visser is predikant in de Goede Herderkerk in Rotterdam-Schiebroek (Protestantse Kerk Nederland). Tevens is hij bestuurslid van de K.H. Miskottestichting.

Marco Visser is a post-doc researcher at the PThU in the field of Biblical Theology.

This research position was established in cooperation with the foundation ‘De Nieuwe Bijbelschool’, which is a network of theologians in the tradition of the so-called ‘Amsterdam School of Biblical Theology and Exegesis’ (www.denieuwebijbelschool.nl).

In 2022, Marco Visser received his doctorate degree with the thesis: ‘Pars pro toto. Analysis of the pars pro toto motif in the work of F.H. Breukelman and elaboration based on the texts about the servant of YHWH in Isaiah. A biblical-theological inquiry.’ Supervisors of the PhD project were Prof Rinse Reeling Brouwer and Prof Klaas Spronk (OT).

The current research is about the work of Rochus Zuurmond, lecturer in hermeneutics and professor of Biblical Theology at the University of Amsterdam from 1981 to 1996, and one of the leading representatives of the ‘Amsterdam School’. The research question is what the significance of his way of doing Biblical Theology is for the discipline as it is today.

Marco Visser is a minister at the Goede Herderkerk in Rotterdam (Protestant Church in the Netherlands). He is also a board member of the K.H. Miskotte Foundation.
