Soil, faith and agriculture

What is a responsible theological view of soil? How can the concept of stewardship - widely used by farmers, agricultural scientists and theologians - be enriched and challenged by theological insights? In this seminar, we will explore how science, Christian theology and faith can contribute to a responsible and future-proof approach to soil.

  • Course content

The seminar is practice-oriented and focuses on the encounter between theory and practice, for example on the farmyard and in the church.

Dialogue is central: dialogue between students and their different scientific and faith contexts, between systematic and practical theology, between theology and natural sciences, and between theory and practice. The perspectives of farmers, stewards, churchwardens and deacons of churches with farmland, spiritual, natural and social scientists come to the table and we bring them into conversation with each other.

    The seminar is 7.5 ECTS.

  • Period
