In my research I focus on the contribution that religious communities can make to the social inclusion of people with mental disabilities. What are inspiring examples we can learn from? What opportunities are there to make more connections between faith communities and healthcare institutions? What does it mean for people with and without mental disabilities to spend time together? Which visions of humanity, wholeness, and of God determine our actions? What does an inclusive theology of vulnerability look like?

For my research I use various methods, both quantitative and qualitative. The focus is on action research aimed at small-scale innovation in practice. I am setting up a knowledge workplace (KWP) for students and professionals in which people work together on new knowledge and innovation in practice.
