About CCBI
The Centre for Contextual Biblical Interpretation is a cooperation of the Protestant Theological University and the Faculty of Theology of Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. It pays attention to the use of the Bible in different cultural contexts and also attempts to bring together the professional and the intuitive reading. An important yearly event is the Bridging Gaps program, enabling students from Latin America, Eastern Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East to work on their own research for a period of three months under auspices of a supervisor of the VU Amsterdam or the PThU. Scholars who are interested are welcome to join our network.
